Retinol + Vitamin C Serum; A Love Story

I've always been a sucker for a good love story. Two products that have my heart and should have yours too, are Vitamin C serum and Retinol (Vitamin A). The combination of applying Vitamin C in the morning, and Retinol at night, is the perfect anti-aging duo for (most) skin types.

To start, Vitamin C serum is a potent antioxidant that is safe for most skin types. It brightens the skin, minimizes hyperpigmentation, and promotes hydration. Vitamin C has many benefits to it and is believed to be one of the best anti-aging ingredients. Vitamin C serum may also soothe sunburns and protect against sun damage since it protects skin cells from damaging free radicals caused by UV exposure.

In addition to Vitamin C serum, Retinol, a derivative of Vitamin A, is another product with fantastic anti-aging qualities. Retinol regenerates the skin, keeping the skin cells active and preventing premature cell death. It not only refreshes the skin's appearance, but it also helps with smoothing skin texture. Further, it fades dark age spots, sun spots and hyperpigmentation and evens out complexion over time. Retinol has been proven to increase cellular turnover for newer, healthier skin.

Note: Vitamin A (Retinoid) such as Retin-A and Tretinoin, are prescription only while Retinol, a weaker form of Vitamin A can be purchased over the counter. The marked difference between Retinoid and Retinol is the depth and speed. Both forms of Vitamin A are extremely beneficial for acne,  skin texture and anti-aging purposes.

So what is the moral of this Vitamin A and C love story? These are two products worth investing in. In a world of millions of creams, serums, and potions, these two active ingredients work wonderfully together enhancing the skin. Applying Vitamin C in the morning and Retinol at night will be your skin's most compatible love story.
